Ring in the Lunar New Year with firecrackers, lion dances, delicious Chinese food, and a parade in downtown Winslow.
The Festival is the heart of the celebration. Cymbals, gong, and Taiko drum accompany the dancing lion with its huge, colorful mane. Mayor Kordonowy lights the string of thousands of firecrackers that fill the air with noise and smoke. Cultural booths invite you to explore the Chinese zodiac, see your name written in Chinese calligraphy, have your face painted like a Peking Opera singer, or taste some oolong and jasmine tea.
